Hi All
Not sure how many of you are human development folks but if you are at all interested in little ones zerotothree.org is a great resource. Above is a link to a couple of videos they have posted to help get the word out about upcoming proposed budget cuts to child care and Head Start funding. Regardless of where you sit politically I urge you to watch them. I will admit, they are a bit dry, but the first one has an excellent and simple explaination of how the budget process works at the federal level and the second one gives a great synopsis of what is happening right now budget wise and what the continuing resolution's mean. These are great insights and examples of what work is being done in family policy. Yes . . . it is child care again (because I love it!) but the information on federal budgets is great and afterall . . . children may just be our most important resource :).
Excellent videos Maegan. I couldn't agree more with your position. Be sure to examine the NY Times graphic for more info about discretionary federal spending.
